THE MUSIC
Formed in January 2007, Auckland band HANGMAN creates an energetic and exciting mix of rock and funk with varied influences such as; Rollins Band, Beastie Boys, Helmet, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and rage Against the Machine too classic influences such as; Public Enemy, Jimi Hendrix, The Wailers, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.

LIVE
HANGMAN is a band that prides itself on live performance - the band has performed throughout New Zealand including shows in; Auckland, Whangarei, Mangawhai, Leigh, Pukekohe, Coromandel, National Park, Wellington, Taranaki, Mt Maunganui, Rotorua, Dargaville, Taupo, Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill.
Performances include:
- Turn It Up Tour – Nov 2007, People Will Prevail Tour – October 2008, Grey Lynn Festival 2007, Parihaka Peace Festival - 2008/ 2009, Onehunga Festival 2008/ 2009, Expedition Tour (South Island) April 2009, The Second Expedition (October 2009)
In July 2008 the band won the ‘Best Alternative’ category at the recent Acoustic Edge awards at Harvest Bar in Pukekohe, showing that the band and their music can also translate into the acoustic realm.
